Obituary

Conrad Joseph Hassa, a cherished soul whose laughter and love knew no bounds, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, in Livonia, Michigan. Born in Detroit on March 28, 1939, to Joseph and Stella Hassa, Conrad's life was a tapestry woven with joy, service, and creativity, touching the lives of many in his 86 years.

A proud Army veteran, Conrad served his country with honor and valor before embarking on a life rich with family, work, and play. His dedication to his country was matched only by his commitment to his family. Conrad was the heart of his family, a devoted husband to his late wife, Sharon, and a pillar of strength and love for his children, Craig, Colleen (Wes) Ellis, and Brian. His grandchildren, Keith, CJ, Hailey (Sam), Tai, Logan, Drew, and Stephanie, were the apple of his eye, and he delighted in the growth and achievements of his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jaden, Riley, Theodore, and Livian.

Conrad's siblings, Larry (Lorraine), Pat, Karen, and the late Phil, shared in the joys and sorrows of life with him. The bond they held was one of unconditional support and shared history, a testament to the family values instilled in them from an early age.

His professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and camaraderie, attributes that made him a respected colleague and friend. Conrad's zest for life extended far beyond his work, as he found joy and purpose in his many hobbies and interests. Music from the 50s and 60s filled his home, and he could often be found dancing to the oldies, a broad smile on his face. His love for building and flying RC radio-controlled airplanes showcased his precise craftsmanship and patience, while his and Sharon's passion for cruising reflected their adventurous spirits.

An outdoorsman at heart, Conrad relished the times spent camping, riding motorcycles, and water skiing, embracing the beauty and thrill of nature. His artistic talents were many; he captured moments through photography, expressed thoughts with great handwriting, and brought visions to life with his skillful drawing. Conrad's humor and wit were his trademarks-he was a jokester with a great sense of humor who could effortlessly bring a smile to anyone's face.

Conrad was a man of many stories, a talkative and engaging conversationalist who never shied away from a good chat. His flirtatious nature was endearing, and he navigated life with a light-heartedness that endeared him to all.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate Conrad Joseph Hassa's legacy-a life lived with love, laughter, and an unwavering presence for his family. He will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him. Conrad's journey may have come to a gentle close, but the echoes of his laughter and the imprint of his love will remain in our hearts forever.
