Obituary

Connie V. Laich (Bierbaum) was born on May 20, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska.  She passed away on February 19, 2024 at the age of 78 in Wayne, Michigan.

Connie's greatest pleasure was being a dedicated daughter to the late Charlie and LeEtta (Pinky) Bierbaum, devoted wife to the late Mathew Laich, loving mother to her three children and adoring grandmother to her two grandchildren.  Connie was employed by National Bank of Detroit, where she served as a custodian. Her home was everyone's favorite daycare, she provided a safe and welcoming environment treating every child left in her care like they were family.

Connie very much enjoyed spending time with her family, playing board games, cards, swimming in her parents' pool, camping, gardening, scrapbooking, and watching movies.  Connie and Matt, sometimes with their children, spent many years on various bowling leagues, making friends all along the way.  Connie treasured any moment she could spend with her grandchildren.  They truly brought her such joy.

Connie is survived by daughter, Deborah (Scott) Grefke, two sons, Andrew Laich and Mark Laich, grandson, Ian Kulas, granddaughter Rachel Grefke, brother, Jim (Carol) Bierbaum, brother, Mike (Linda) Bierbaum, brother and sister-in-law, Robin and Sandy Laich, and many cherished nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother, Ron Bierbaum.
