Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we share that Clifford "Jim" Moore, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Beaumont Hospital in Wayne, Michigan, following a long bout with dementia and other health complications.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lenore (Novakovich) Moore; his sons, Dale & Steven Moore; his sister, Julie (Moore) Tutor; many in-laws; many nieces and nephews ; and many close friends. Jim is preceded in death by his father Clifford Moore; his mother, Ruby Moore; his brother, Martin Moore; his sister, Nancy (Wilkins) Moore; and his brother, David Moore.

Jim was born in Detroit Michigan, and is the son of Clifford and Ruby (Crook) Moore. He lived in the city of Wayne, Michigan for over 55 years where he would eventually raise a family.

Jim was hired by General Motors in 1959, where he held various positions for 34 years, before retiring in 1993. After retiring, he ran a lawn and snow removal service for a number of years. He and his wife Lenore, who were married in 1982, were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Wayne for many years.

Mr. Moore took great pride in a good day's work, and in all his years, rarely took sick days. Throughout his long career at GM, he forged many friendships that lasted a lifetime. No one was a "stranger" to Jim, as he loved talking to everyone and developed many close friendships throughout his lifetime because of his easy going nature.

He had a passion for playing softball, bowling, watching sports, and WWE Wrestling. Jim was a part of many softball teams and bowling leagues. He frequently took his sons to Detroit Tigers games at both Tiger Stadium and Comerica Park. Jim was overall a fun-loving guy and quick with a joke. While he will be missed by all who knew him, he would want everyone to "keep laughing and loving life".

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff at Corewell Health for their efforts and care.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to Jim's donation page. You can copy and paste the link in your web browser:
