Obituary

Christopher Paul Iskra, known affectionately to all as Chris, embarked on his final intergalactic mission to a galaxy far, far away on December 27, 2024. Born on July 22, 1976, in Wayne, Michigan, Chris was the kind of guy who made an art out of living and turned every moment into a masterpiece of memories for those he loved. He left us at the age of 48, in Westland, Michigan, with the same enthusiasm for life that he carried in his heart every day.

Chris was the beloved son of Andrew Iskra, who had previously taken his own voyage into the unknown, and Linda Iskra, his loving mother who survives him. His journey through life was brightened by his wife of five years, Alice Iskra, who was his partner in both love and laughter. He was the brother who could always be counted on for a bit of mischief and a lot of support to his sister, Andrea (Daniel) White. And let's not forget his role as the coolest uncle to Alexandra and Riley White, his nieces who were the apple of his eye and the recipients of his endlessly creative 3D-printed gifts.

Chris was a graphic designer by trade and a wizard by all other accounts. He had the magical ability to turn a blank canvas into a tapestry of colors and shapes that told stories and sparked joy. His graphic shirts weren't just clothing; they were wearable jokes, puns, and declarations of love for his family. Oh, and his 3D printer? That wasn't just a machine; it was a portal to a world where his nieces' wildest dreams became tangible toys and trinkets.

Speaking of dreams, Chris was a die-hard Star Wars fan, and if you think you've seen passion, you haven't seen Chris defending the merits of the prequels or recreating the entire Battle of Hoth in his living room. His bass guitar was his lightsaber, and he wielded it with the mastery of a Jedi, laying down grooves that could make even a Sith Lord tap his foot.

Determination was Chris's middle name-well, actually, it was Paul, but you get the idea. When he set his mind to something, not even the most intricate of Lego Death Stars could deter him. He was the man who would figure out how to fix a broken vase, concoct the perfect midnight snack, or find that one action figure his niece had been pining for since her last birthday.

Chris lived passionately and stubbornly, a combination that made for an unstoppable force of nature. He loved deeply, laughed heartily, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy is one of joy, creativity, and an unyielding spirit that reminded us all to live each day to its fullest.

So, as we say goodbye to Chris, let's not dwell on the silence of his bass or the stillness of his 3D printer. Instead, let's crank up the Star Wars theme, wear our most outrageous graphic tees, and celebrate a life that was truly out of this world. May the Force be with you, Chris. Always.
