Carol Ann Zimmerman (nee Walker) was born July 4, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan. She was later adopted by Jesse and Loretta Walker of Westland, MI.  Carol graduated in 1965 from Wayne Memorial High School, and married James Zimmerman II with whom she had three children, Margaret, Connie (Brian) Smith, and James III (Jennifer).  Carol enjoyed bowling in her younger years.  She participated in Jaycees, held offices in the PTO and enjoyed ceramics and needlepoint.  She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She loved to tend her garden, can, and sew amazing outfits for her kids.  She had an artistic flair, was a fantastic cook, and was an amazing grandmother to Matthew, James, Grace, and many fur-grandbabies.   After raising kids,  she worked retail (most recently Hahn Paint) until she retired to babysit her beloved grandchildren.  She would pick up from school, and somehow travel to 7-11 for slurpees before making it home.  She loved her extended family including siblings and half-siblings and lovingly cared for her in-laws.  Carol was predeceased in death by brother William Cetnarowski, half-brother Kenneth Wallis,  parents Jesse and Loretta Walker, and her grand-daughter, Abigail Smith, with whom she shares a birthday. She was the heart of the family, who worried incessantly, gave endlessly to family and friends, and loved the Lord. Carol passed away in Livonia, Michigan, on May 31, 2022, surrounded by her three children.
