Obituary

Carmel Lynn Wallace, a beacon of joy and inspiration, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, in Livonia, Michigan, her spirit leaving the world as quietly and gracefully as it lived within it. Born on June 1, 1968, in Garden City, Michigan, Carmel's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit.

Despite facing challenges that would have daunted many, Carmel never allowed it to quench her zest for life. She approached each day with an irrepressible sense of humor and a smile that could light up any room. Her laughter was infectious, and her wit, sharp as a tack, made her the life of every gathering.

Carmel's love for Elvis Presley was more than just a musical preference; it was a joy that permeated her life. She owned every album and could often be found swaying to his tunes, her heart beating in time with the King's iconic rhythms. Her love for music extended beyond just listening; she loved playing a variety of instruments, dedicating time at home to practice and perfect her craft.

Art was another of Carmel's passions. With a pencil or crochet hook in hand, she created beauty effortlessly, her works a reflection of the love and care she put into every stroke and stitch. These pieces of art are cherished reminders of her talent and creativity.

Carmel's sense of fun was legendary, and her karaoke performances were nothing short of iconic. Her rendition of "Achy Breaky Heart" was a beloved spectacle, often lasting until the early morning hours, much to the delight of her audience. Her spirit was as vibrant at 3 a.m. as it was at 3 p.m., a testament to her indefatigable enthusiasm for life.

A great swimmer, Carmel's athleticism shone brightly when she won a medal in the Special Olympics in the 1980s for swimming. This accomplishment was a source of great pride, showcasing her determination and hard work.

Carmel was predeceased by her loving parents, Harry and Phyllis Wallace, and her brother Dennis Wallace. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love to her siblings, Quentin, Ricky, and Judy Wallace, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish the memories of their beloved aunt.

Carmel Lynn Wallace's life was a journey of joy, laughter, and love. She was a shining example of how to live fully, regardless of the obstacles one might face. Her memory will be carried forward in the hearts of all who knew her, a reminder that life, no matter the challenges, is a beautiful gift to be embraced with both hands and a full heart.
