Billy Ray Collins Sr., age 77, passed away on November 3, 2026. He was born on August 24, 1949, in Mount Airy, North Carolina, to the late James and Emma Collins.

Billy was the beloved husband of Donna Collins and a devoted father to Theresa Collins, Billy (Sabrina) Collins Jr., Lessie (Brian) Meyer, Danny Collins, and Gary Collins. He was one of nine siblings and took great pride in his family. Billy was also a proud grandfather to Kimberly, Kristina, Billy, Morgan, Summer, Ryan, Gary, Robert, Shawn, Kayla, Brandon, Danny, and Destiny, and a great-grandfather to 17 great-grandchildren, each adding their own special joy to his family.

Billy had a lifelong love for cars. Whether he was behind the wheel driving them or simply admiring them, he never passed up an opportunity to appreciate a good automobile. Another constant in his life was his coffee, which he enjoyed at just about any hour of the day. Morning, afternoon, or evening, there was never a wrong time for a cup of coffee.

Billy was certainly a man who knew his own mind. Stubborn and set in his ways, he wasn't one to sugarcoat his opinions. He was known for his blunt honesty, quick remarks, dry sense of humor, and having very little filter. You always knew where you stood with Billy, and his straightforward personality was simply part of what made him who he was. Beneath that tough exterior was a caring side that he showed in his own way, especially to the close-knit circle of people he held dear.

Billy will be remembered for his strong personality, his unmistakable sense of humor, his love of cars and coffee, and the unique way he showed love to those closest to him. He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish the memories, stories, and moments they shared with him. He will be deeply missed.
