Beth L. Bussard, 92, passed away at the Linden Square Assisted Living Center in Saline, MI on August 18th, 2021.
She was born on December, 29th, 1928 in Coleman, South Dakota to Roy and Hazel Loughlin. The family moved to Michigan when Beth was 9 years old. She married her first husband, Stan Powell in 1948. Stan died tragically in an auto accident in 1956. Beth then had a long career in the nursing field, learning many skills and went on to raise her three children; Connie, Vickie and Loren Powell. Beth moved to Las Vegas in the early '70's to open a restaurant together with her sister, Lee. There she met her second husband, Delbert Bussard and they were married in 1976.
Beth and Del lived an adventurous life. They bought a boat and did commercial salmon fishing in Coos Bay, Oregon. While living in Bakersfield, California near Beth's parents, they toured the U.S. on a motorcycle and in a camper trailer. They took cruises all over the world. After Beth's parents passed, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida where her daughter Vickie lived. There they became very active in their church and various outreach ministries.
In 2012, Beth and Del moved to Saline, Michigan near her daughter Connie and her son Loren and their families. There they enjoyed church and time with Beth's family. Beth was always known for her love of the Lord and touched many people in a spiritual way.
In addition to her first husband, Stan, Beth was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Ila, Lee and Mae, and her second husband Del. She is survived by her daughters Connie (Bob) Gula, Vickie Stevens and son Loren (Teresa) Powell, along with six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
