On April 16, 2023 Au Thi Nguyen passed away, at the age of 87, surrounded by her family in Wayne, Michigan. She was born on December 31, 1935 to the late Duong Mau Nguyen and Sai Thi Le in Quang Binh, Vietnam. She was the beloved wife of the late Thong Van Le. Loving mother to Daughter, Lilly Le, Son, Van Hieu Le, Daughter, Thi Bich Thoa Le, Son, Duy Hoa Le, Daughter, Doan Hanh Nancy Le, Daughter, Chi Hue Le, and Son, Van Trung Le. Cherished grandmother to Granddaughter, Precious, Granddaughter, Princess, Grandson, Joey, Grandson, Johnny, Grandson, Jimmy, Grandson, Khai, Granddaughter, Vivian, Grandson, Kevin, Grandson, Kenneth, Granddaughter, Krystal, Grandson, Minh, Grandson, Binh, Grandson, An, Granddaughter, Nhan, Granddaughter, Sophie, Granddaughter, Ivy, Granddaughter, Choloe, and Grandson, Tam. Dear Great-grandmother to Cuong and Anh. Loving sister of Khanh Mau Nguyen, Tùng Mau Nguyen, Dy Thi Nguyen, and Khánh Mau Nguyen.

Au was a very strong woman with a beautiful energy. She relocated with her children to the United States in September of 1991 to give them a better life and more opportunities. She helped raise her grandchildren and kept the traditions of her culture alive in the family. She taught all her granddaughters and grandsons the Vietnamese language and loved the food of her heritage. She was the glue of her family and made everyone stick together.

Beautiful things come together one stitch at a time and Au loved making beautiful things with her sewing. She made her own clothes as well as clothing for her family.  Her kind and loving spirit will be dearly missed by all those who loved her.
