It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andy Centek, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on August 21, 2026, at the age of 88. Andy was born on October 13, 1937, and spent his life in Westland, Michigan, creating lasting memories and touching the lives of all who knew him.
Andy was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife, Judith, whom he met through friends and married in 1959. Their marriage was a beautiful journey marked by love, companionship, and shared adventures. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, kindness, and joy.
A proud father, Andy is survived by his loving daughter, Terry (Patrick) Bradley, and his cherished grandson, Justin Murray. He also as one great grandchild on the way. He will also be missed deeply by his sister, Darlene Harbinski, who carry fond memories of his warm smile and easygoing nature.
Andy dedicated over 30 years of service to Detroit Diesel, where he earned the respect of his colleagues as a skilled tradesman. Known for his honesty and intelligence, Andy was a hard worker who approached every task with dedication and a strong work ethic. Even after retirement, he remained active and engaged, passionately sharing his views on God and the Bible through written reflections, emphasizing the goodness he saw in the world.
A laid-back and friendly soul, Andy loved to connect with others, often bonding over his cherished hobby of CB radios. His ability to bring people together with his warm spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on those who crossed his path.
Andy's journey on this earth may have come to a close, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and looks forward to sharing the joy of Andy's life with all those he touched.
Rest in peace, dear Andy; your kind heart and gentle soul will be forever missed.
