Obituary

Alice Loretta Ledesma, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Belleville, MI, after a life rich with family, laughter, and care for others. Born on January 27, 1953, in Bedford, IN, Alice's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her loved ones and an open heart that knew no bounds. Alice's life was a testament to the power of love. She was the cherished wife of the late Thomas Ledesma, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 30 years until his passing in 2019. Together, they built a family founded on warmth and kindness, attributes Alice personified in every aspect of her life. Her family was her pride and joy, and she is survived by her loving children: Michael (Christine) Dykes, Robert "Chris" (Charlene) Dykes, Nikki (Jeff) Klekamp, Thomas (BJ Larman) Ledesma, Theresa Ledesma, and Jeremy (the late Melissa) Ledesma. She was also an adoring grandmother to Sophina Boles and several more grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. Alice's siblings, Lowell "Tommy" Still, Robert "Sammy" Still, Virginia "Jenny" Still, and John "Lenny" Powell Jr., will fondly remember their sister's boundless compassion and her ability to make everyone around her feel cherished. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Still, her mother, Patricia McPherson, and her son, Patrick Boles. Throughout her life, Alice was the epitome of a giving soul. Her home was always open, and she was affectionately known as the 'Kool-Aid Mom' of the neighborhood, always ensuring that no child went hungry or thirsty. Her generosity extended beyond her family and friends, touching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Alice's interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality. She had a passion for the ID channel, where she indulged in her love for crime shows, often sharing her insights and theories with anyone who would listen. Her enthusiasm for these shows was just another facet of her multifaceted character. To say that Alice loved everyone would be an understatement. She was selfless to a fault, often putting the needs and happiness of others before her own. Her presence was a comfort to many, and her absence will leave a void in the hearts of those she touched. Alice's legacy is one of unconditional love and selflessness. The words that best describe her-loving, generous, and kind-only scratch the surface of the impact she had on her family and community. Her spirit will live on in the cherished memories she leaves behind and in the values she instilled in her family. As we bid farewell to Alice Loretta Ledesma, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that gave so freely. Her memory will be forever treasured by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched. Alice's journey on this earth has ended, but her story of love and kindness will continue to be told for generations to come.
