Job Title: Evening Receptionist

Location: Uht Funeral Home Westland, Michigan

Employment Type: Part-Time

Shift: Evening (Hours: 5 PM – 8/9 PM)

At Uht Funeral Home, we provide compassionate and respectful services to families in their time of need. Our dedicated team ensures a peaceful, supportive environment for grieving families. We are seeking an empathetic and professional individual to join our team as an Evening Receptionist.

 

Position Summary:

The Evening Receptionist will be responsible for greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the funeral home during evening hours. The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Greet and assist families, visitors, and guests with respect and professionalism.

· Answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to the on-call funeral director.

· Provide general information about services, procedures, and facilities.

· Maintain a clean and organized reception area.

· Assist with light administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and preparing documents.

· Support the coordination of funeral services as needed.

· Ensure a calm and welcoming environment for grieving families.

· Respond to any inquiries or concerns with empathy and discretion.

 

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role (preferred).

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently during evening hours.

· Experience in a funeral home or similar setting is a plus, but not required.

 

Working Hours:

 

Monday through Friday 5 PM - 9 PM at an on-call basis.

Weekend availability required at an on-call basis and holiday coverage may be required.
